One of my careers was as a Wardrober to busy working women and even a few celebrities. What is a Wardrober or wardrobing? It is putting together an entire season’s clothing wardrobe. It is coordinating the entire wardrobe to be interchangeable, cohesive, stylish, and to get the maximum use by purchasing quality pieces that will become staples in the closet for years to come.

Most of my clients had to be ready to travel at a moments notice and not have to worry about what to pack. If done correctly, the client could chose pieces relevant to the trip (leisure or business) and know that what was chosen would all coordinate, thus taking all the fuss out of the packing process.

Wardrobing is great for any budget, but it is actually the most useful to the woman with a lower budget. By carefully choosing a wardrobe, she is able to avoid buying pieces that end up hardly being worn and thereby taking up money that could have been spent on something else. It is cost efficient. It can even allow her to splurge on a few very desired items, like a designer accessory.

How do you do all this and still end up with a beautiful, stylish, and yes, even fun wardrobe? Come back tomorrow for all the details, tips and tricks!

Ok. I’m not a poet. I don’t claim to be, but that little lame bit of poetry is one of my personal mantras. Now, please understand that I don’t hang them in a narcissistic need to look at my reflection, I love to look AT them, not IN them.

A mirror is an accessory, just like a beautiful statement necklace on a little black dress (btw, I say that about chandeliers, too, but that’s another post). It can define the style of a room. It adds drama, and let’s face it, luxe is all about drama. I always make sure that they are across from a beautifully fabric framed window or another focal point such as art, a fireplace, or a tapestry. Treat a mirror as a piece of art and a way to reflect other beautiful objects or fabric onto another wall.

Here are just a few of my many mirrors. (I have thrown my business name on them for copyright reasons.)

0fefbf4eb80224c13630762fb344c59eI love luxe. What is luxe? Luxe is luxurious, elegance, sumptuousness, and beauty. I love it in all it’s forms: interior design, architecture, fashion, jewelry, art…you name it. If it can be seen, touched or worn I love it beautiful. I don’t know whether it is that I am a Taurus or an artist, or both. But I love beautiful things.

It may have all started when I was a child…an artistic child at that. My uncle was an architect who built custom luxury homes. Every weekend he would go to the building site or to see another architect’s work. He would try to get some of his own children to go with him, but they hated it. I, on the other hand, would beg to go. So, there I was as a five year old going along with my uncle to see beautiful homes in various stages of completion. My favorite was visiting the model homes. Interior designers were hired by architects to furnish the model homes to display them to potential buyers. For many years I did this, and as I would, I began to both critique and take careful note of what I thought looked good and why.

So here I am today, having done much design work both for others and myself. I have learned how to shop and to do DIY to get the luxe looks that I love. This forum is an extension of my love of luxe and sharing it with you. You don’t need a huge bank account, just a good eye, mad shopping skills and sometimes some elbow grease. With these things, you can Luxe Your Life!
